What Is an SSD?
An SSD (Solid State Drive) is a storage device with no moving mechanical parts, used to permanently store the operating system, software and files. Compared with traditional mechanical hard drives (HDD), it generally offers faster data access and, having no moving parts, can be an advantage in environments with vibration. When choosing an industrial PC, in addition to SSD capacity, the interface, write endurance, temperature range and usage intensity should also be considered. Not every SSD is suitable for industrial conditions, so product specifications should be checked.
