What Is a Fanless Industrial PC?

A fanless industrial PC is a computer in which the heat generated by the processor and other components is dissipated without a fan, usually through passive cooling and a specially designed enclosure. The absence of a fan reduces moving parts and eliminates fan noise. It can also help reduce the risks posed by dust that a fan might draw in. These computers can be used in automation, control cabinets and, with suitable design, in demanding environments. However, a fanless design does not mean unlimited performance or complete dust and water tightness in every environment; operating temperature, processor load and the enclosure's cooling capacity must be considered together.
