What Is a Panel PC?

A Panel PC is a computer, usually with a touch screen, in which the computer and the display are combined in a single device. It is designed for operators to control machines, monitor production data and use automation software. It can be mounted on control panels or machine surfaces. Panel PCs are used especially in HMI (Human-Machine Interface) applications, on production lines and in industrial control systems. Screen size, touch technology, connectivity and the level of environmental protection are important selection criteria.
